Palak Paneer
Palak Paneer Sabzi is a popular North Indian dish made with spinach and paneer (Indian cottage cheese), simmered in a flavorful gravy. Here's a simple recipe to make this nutritious and delicious dish:
Ingredients:
- 200g paneer, cubed
- 2 bunches of spinach (palak), washed and chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, chopped
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil or ghee
- Fresh cream for garnish (optional)
Recipe:
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chilies. Sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then blend it into a smooth paste.
- Return the paste to the pan and add cubed paneer.
- Simmer for a few minutes until the paneer is heated through and the flavors are well combined.
