Kathal




Kathal ki sabzi, also known as jackfruit curry, is a delicious vegetarian dish popular in Indian cuisine. Here's a simple recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 500g raw jackfruit (kathal), peeled and chopped
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2-3 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish


Recipe:

  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.
  • Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add chopped jackfruit and cook covered until tender.
