BHINDI
Bhindi, also known as okra or lady's finger, is a versatile vegetable commonly used in Indian cuisine. Here's a simple recipe to make a delicious bhindi dish:
Ingredients:
- 500g bhindi (okra), washed and dried
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Recipe:
- Trim the ends of the bhindi.
- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Add slit green chilies and chopped tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the slit bhindi and cook covered until tender.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice. Enjoy your flavorful bhindi!
