BHINDI


Bhindi, also known as okra or lady's finger, is a versatile vegetable commonly used in Indian cuisine. Here's a simple recipe to make a delicious bhindi dish:

Ingredients:

  • 500g bhindi (okra), washed and dried
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Recipe:

  • Trim the ends of the bhindi.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  • Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add slit green chilies and chopped tomatoes. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the slit bhindi and cook covered until tender.
  • Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice. Enjoy your flavorful bhindi!
